Quest Diagnostics Security Upgrade: Lockly Defender Smart Lock Installation on a Storefront Door by Charleston Locksmith

Commercial security always starts at the front door. Recently, Charleston Locksmith completed a security upgrade at Quest Diagnostics, replacing an older storefront door hardware setup with a modern Lockly Defender Smart Lock system. The project was completed by Charleston Locksmith technician Larry and demonstrates how today’s smart lock technology can improve security, access control, and operational convenience for businesses of all sizes.

The Challenge

The existing storefront door utilized traditional commercial door hardware that offered basic security but limited access management capabilities.

As businesses evolve, many organizations seek solutions that provide:

• Improved security
• Better control over employee access
• Reduced dependence on physical keys
• Easier management of authorized users
• Modernized entry systems

Quest Diagnostics sought a solution that would enhance security while maintaining professional appearance and ease of use.

The Solution: Lockly Defender Smart Lock

Charleston Locksmith recommended and installed a Lockly Defender Smart Lock system designed specifically for commercial applications.

The Lockly Defender provides advanced access control features while maintaining the durability required for high-traffic commercial environments.

Key benefits include:

Enhanced Security

Traditional keys can be copied, lost, or misplaced.

Smart lock technology allows businesses to better manage access permissions while maintaining strong physical security.

Controlled Access

Authorized personnel can access the facility without the need to distribute multiple physical keys.

This reduces key management challenges and helps organizations maintain better control over who enters the property.

Professional Appearance

Modern commercial lock systems provide a clean, professional appearance that complements today’s commercial storefronts.

The upgraded hardware creates a more modern and secure first impression for employees and visitors.

Reduced Key Management

Businesses often face challenges when employees leave, keys are lost, or access permissions change.

Smart access solutions simplify management and can reduce the need for frequent rekeying services.

Before and After Transformation

The upgrade dramatically changed both the appearance and functionality of the storefront entrance.

The original hardware provided basic entry functionality, while the newly installed Lockly Defender system delivers enhanced security features, controlled access capabilities, and a modern professional appearance.

For many businesses, upgrading commercial door hardware represents one of the most cost-effective ways to improve overall security.

Why Professional Installation Matters

Commercial storefront doors require specialized knowledge and proper installation techniques.

Incorrect installation can result in:

• Improper door operation
• Reduced security
• Premature hardware failure
• Access control issues
• Increased maintenance costs

Charleston Locksmith technicians are experienced in commercial door hardware installation, access control solutions, storefront door security, and business security upgrades.
